A flange-mounted magnetostrictive level gauge is a precision instrument for continuous liquid level measurement in industrial tanks. It combines magnetostrictive sensing with a flange connection, enabling direct mounting on tank nozzles for stable, leak-resistant installation. The probe is stainless steel or corrosion-resistant, with a float containing magnets and an electronic head that outputs continuous level signals.

As the float moves with the liquid surface, its magnetic field interacts with a current pulse in the waveguide. The resulting torsional wave is detected, and the electronics calculate the float position accurately. This makes the gauge reliable in demanding process conditions.

The flange-mounted design suits pressurized or sealed tanks. Common flanges include DN50, DN80, DN100, ANSI 2-inch to 4-inch. Materials such as 304, 316L, PTFE, and PVDF are available. Users can select pressure ratings, temperature ranges, outputs, and explosion-proof options.

Typical applications include oil and gas, chemicals, water treatment, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and power generation. Outputs like 4-20 mA, HART, RS485, and Modbus allow easy integration with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.

Proper installation requires correct nozzle alignment, float clearance, and avoidance of strong magnetic interference. Regular inspection of the float, probe, and flange seal maintains accuracy. With correct selection, a flange-mounted magnetostrictive level gauge provides safe, efficient level monitoring.
