Graybus cable is a specialized fieldbus cable for reliable data transmission in industrial automation, elevator systems, and control networks. Its technical parameters determine signal stability, anti-interference ability, and long-term durability. Typical construction uses stranded bare copper conductors from 0.5 to 1.5 mm2, PE or foam PE insulation, and twisted-pair or multi-pair cores. It usually has an aluminum foil/polyester tape shield plus a tinned copper braid, with coverage above 85%. This shield protects low-voltage signals from electromagnetic interference and crosstalk. Key electrical parameters include characteristic impedance of 100, 120, or 150 ohm depending on the protocol, capacitance of 40-60 pF/m, propagation delay near 5 ns/m, and velocity of propagation of 66-78%. The rated voltage is commonly 300 V, with a test voltage of 1500 V AC for 1 minute. Insulation resistance exceeds 5000 MOhm.km. Operating temperature ranges from -40 to +80 degC for fixed installation; flexible versions may support -20 to +70 degC. Thermal aging and oil resistance depend on the jacket material. Mechanical parameters include conductor resistance below 95 ohm/km for 0.5 mm2 and below 25 ohm/km for 1.5 mm2. The minimum bending radius is about 10 x outer diameter for fixed routing and 15 x outer diameter for moving applications. The outer sheath is usually PVC, PUR, or LSZH, offering resistance to abrasion, moisture, UV, and chemicals. These values help engineers choose the right Graybus cable.
