Corrosion-resistant Graybus Cable is engineered for reliable data and power transmission in aggressive industrial environments. Unlike standard cables, it combines tinned copper conductors, high-density shielding, and a durable outer jacket to resist moisture, chemicals, oils, salt spray, and UV exposure. These features help maintain signal integrity where humidity, cleaning agents, and corrosive gases would quickly damage ordinary wiring. The cable typically uses polyethylene or XLPE insulation for low dielectric loss and stable electrical performance. A foil tape with a tinned copper braid provides excellent EMI/RFI protection, reducing noise in fieldbus networks. The outer sheath may be made from polyurethane (PUR), LSZH, or specially formulated PVC. PUR offers outstanding abrasion, oil, and hydrolysis resistance, making it ideal for offshore platforms, wastewater treatment plants, chemical processing, and marine equipment. Halogen-free versions improve safety in tunnels and enclosed spaces. In Graybus systems, corrosion resistance is not only about the jacket. Fillers, tapes, and bedding materials must also withstand chemical attack. Water-blocking agents prevent longitudinal moisture migration if the cable is cut or damaged. UV stabilizers protect outdoor installations from sunlight degradation. Temperature ratings often range from -40°C to +80°C or higher, depending on the compound. Flexible designs allow routing through trays, conduits, and moving machinery without cracking. Correct grounding and installation extend service life.
