A water conservancy corrosion-resistant magnetostrictive level gauge provides stable liquid level measurement in reservoirs, channels, pump stations, and treatment tanks. Its probe contains a magnetostrictive waveguide wire and a float with a permanent magnet. The transmitter sends a short current pulse along the wire. This pulse creates a circular magnetic field around the wire. At the float position, the permanent magnet's field interacts with the pulse field, producing a torsional strain wave in the waveguide. The wave travels back to the sensing head at a known speed. The electronics measure the time between pulse emission and wave reception, then convert this time into an accurate level value. Because the wave speed is stable, the result is highly repeatable and suitable for long-term monitoring.

For water conservancy projects, corrosion resistance is essential. The probe is usually made of 316L stainless steel or Hastelloy and may be coated with PTFE or PFA. Sealed joints, a rugged housing, and IP68 protection prevent water, humidity, and chemical attack. The non-contact float movement avoids clogging and wear, while isolated 4–20 mA, HART, or RS485 output supports PLC, RTU, and SCADA systems. Operators can use the gauge for flood control, irrigation scheduling, and pump control. Regular cleaning and calibration help maintain accuracy in sediment-rich or humid environments.
