A built-in hydraulic cylinder magnetostrictive displacement sensor measures piston position inside the cylinder. It is mounted through the piston rod or cylinder head, protecting it from dust, moisture, impact, and damage. It suits mobile machinery, injection molding, offshore equipment, and automation.
The sensor uses magnetostriction. A waveguide carries a current pulse; a permanent magnet on the piston creates a torsional strain wave. The time between pulse launch and detection becomes an absolute position value. Because the magnet never touches the sensing element, the sensor offers long life, high repeatability, and stable output under vibration.

Installation needs careful cylinder design. The sensor rod must align with the piston bore, and the magnet must move freely. Seals, ports, and cable exits must resist oil, heat, and shock. Filtering and grounding reduce noise in PWM-driven systems.
