In mixing stations, accurate material tank level control is essential for stable batching and continuous production. A float-type magnetostrictive level gauge provides a practical field solution for measuring liquid levels in bitumen, water, additive, and other material tanks. The float moves with the liquid surface, while the magnetostrictive sensing element detects its position and converts it into a continuous signal. This design offers high accuracy, good repeatability, and strong resistance to dust, vibration, and foam.
During field application, the gauge is installed vertically on the tank top. The measuring rod length is selected according to tank height and working range. The float material and sealing grade should match the medium, especially for corrosive or high-temperature liquids. A guided float structure reduces the influence of turbulence, making the gauge suitable for mixing station conditions where pumps and agitators create movement. Standard outputs such as 4-20 mA, HART, or RS485 can be connected to the control system for real-time monitoring, alarm, and automatic replenishment. It is widely used in asphalt and concrete mixing plants.
Practical experience shows that the float-type magnetostrictive level gauge is easy to install and maintain. It helps operators avoid overflow, dry running, and batching errors. Regular inspection of the float, rod, and cable connection ensures long-term reliability. With correct selection and installation, this level gauge improves material management, reduces downtime, and supports efficient, safe mixing station operation.
