Chemical processing demands precise position feedback in environments where pressure, temperature, corrosion, and vibration are constant challenges. High-pressure LVDT displacement sensors are designed for these conditions. A linear variable differential transformer uses a non-contact magnetic core and coils to convert linear motion into an electrical signal, providing repeatable measurement for valves, pumps, compressors, and actuation systems.
In high-pressure service, the sensor must combine a rugged pressure housing, proven sealing, and corrosion-resistant materials. Stainless steel bodies, welded or O-ring-sealed interfaces, and pressure ratings matched to reactor, autoclave, or hydraulic circuits help protect the coil assembly. The LVDT can monitor valve stem position, actuator stroke, pump displacement, or critical mechanical movement, supporting control loops and safety interlocks.

Chemical plants also require resistance to aggressive media, washdown, electromagnetic interference, and wide temperature swings. Signal conditioning should deliver stable output, good linearity, and low hysteresis. Redundant or isolated outputs can improve diagnostics and uptime. Routine calibration and proper mounting preserve accuracy over long operating cycles. With proper installation and calibration, high-pressure LVDT displacement sensors offer long service life, low maintenance, and reliable feedback for demanding chemical industry applications.
