Installation begins with site selection. Choose a location where the pipe is always full and free from strong vibration, heat, and electromagnetic interference. Keep sufficient straight pipe sections: usually ten diameters upstream and five diameters downstream. Ensure the flow direction arrow on the sensor matches actual flow.
Before mounting, clean the flange faces and pipe ends. Use suitable gaskets and align the flowmeter concentrically with the pipeline. Do not use excessive force to pull the flanges together. Insert bolts symmetrically and tighten them in a diagonal sequence to avoid gasket distortion and liner damage. The sensor should be grounded independently and reliably; grounding rings may be required for non-conductive pipes. For plastic or lined pipes, install grounding rings at both flanges and bond them to the sensor ground.
For horizontal installation, place the electrodes at the side or bottom of the pipe to prevent air bubbles from collecting. For vertical installation, upward flow is preferred. Leave enough space for wiring and maintenance. Connect signal and power cables according to the manual, keep them away from strong power lines, and seal cable entries. After installation, check flange tightness, grounding, and wiring, then perform a zero-point check and test run. Confirm that the arrow, gasket position, and bolt tightness are correct before opening the valve slowly. A correct flange mounting procedure ensures accurate measurement and long service life.
